SHE/THEY

Rebekka is a creative generalist, parent and soon-to-be ECE with 20 years of business administration experience including health clinic, school and licensed childcare operations.

The Living Room is a community resiliency project born from Rebekka’s wildest dreams and deep need to practice a different way of being in the world. 

Rebekka hopes to generate a livable income in The Living Room through studio-based children's programming, consulting, and other creative pursuits while enjoying life and collaborating with the broader membership community.

Trouble Makers Children’s Programming

SHE/HER

Caitlin Herckenrath is a Certified Ontario Teacher and Orton-Gillingham literacy specialist whose small business, Sunrise Reading Solutions, serves students in the GTA and across North America. As a long-time speaker and presenter, Caitlin educates parents, teachers, and interventionists about dyslexia and the Science of Reading (SOR). Additionally, she bears a background in outdoor and experiential education.

With a passion for movement organizing, Caitlin believes that community resiliency grows by empowering working class people everywhere. Through The Living Room, Caitlin is eager to further this goal alongside everyone who enters its doors. In her work, Caitlin is excited to provide her students with a welcoming space to receive individualized instruction.

SHE/HER

Sarah Doucet is a multidisciplinary artist whose career spans more than 30 years across performance, choreography, rehearsal direction, costume design, and intimacy coordination. She has toured extensively throughout North and SouthAmerica and Europe, collaborating on internationally acclaimed productions. A longtime member of Montreal's Animals of Distinction, she also served as costume designer and rehearsal director. Doucet has sustained a creative partnership of more than three decades with Toronto choreographer Jenn Goodwin and has collaborated with many of Canada's leading dance artists and companies. Her costume design for The Wolves earned a 2019 Dora Mavor Moore Award nomination. Beyond her artistic practice, Doucet is a dedicated advocate for equity and safer working conditions in the performing arts, championing the rights of dancers, survivors, women, and others who have been marginalized or underserved.

SHE/HER

Rebecca is a cis white queer settler from Montreal. Her approach to community work is informed by her years of community organizing and activism, as well as her training in theatrical collective creation. She began working at The 519 as a student in 2018 and has worked with many of the organization’s teams since then. Rebecca is committed to ever-deepening understandings of intersectional feminism, anti-racist praxis, and loving/transformative justice.

HE/HIM

Andrew Winchur (he/him) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and also manages a small team for a Toronto-based housing and shelter provider. He is a member of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) and has worked as a Partner Assault Response (PAR) co-facilitator. From 2018-2021, he directed the Parkdale Free School, a grassroots project aimed at empowering community members to share knowledge and lived experience in anti-oppressive class settings.  

Andrew is looking forward to bringing both his private therapy practice and popular education facilitation interests to the Living Room. He is comfortable working with individuals, couples and groups, and specializes in supporting poor, queer and/or racialized adults with a multitude of challenges including relationship issues, the contradictions of masculinity, depression, anxiety, substance use challenges, Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and low self-worth. In his facilitation work, Andrew is presently focused on offering workshops that explore the complex relationship between personal experiences of white masculinity and oppressive systems like cis-hetero-patriarchy and white supremacy. 

HE/HIM

David Moscoe is a mechanical engineer, community organizer, and unicyclist. An active member of Spring Magazine and Independent Jewish Voices (IJV) and a previous Tenant Organizer with the Oakwood Vaughan Community Organization (OVCO), David believes deeply in empowering communities from within. Whether he’s upcycling wood and metal in his workshop, designing unicycling parts, or engaging in political organizing, David brings plenty of passion (and shenanigans) to every project he’s involved in.

THEY/THEM

Adam Lee is a community organizer, musician, and champion of working class people everywhere. They are eager to use the space to connect with the community, work away at professional projects, and unwind with a good book.
