Rebekka Unrau

Rebekka (she/they) is a creative generalist, parent and soon-to-be ECE with 20 years of business administration experience including health clinic, school and licensed childcare operations. The Living Room is a community resiliency project born from Rebekka’s wildest dreams and deep need to practice a different way of being in the world. 

Rebekka hopes to generate a livable income in The Living Room through creative children's programming, consulting, and other creative pursuits while collaborating with and supporting the broader membership community.

Caitlin Herckenrath

Caitlin Herckenrath (she/her) is a Certified Ontario Teacher and literacy specialist whose small business, Sunrise Reading Solutions, serves students in the GTA and across North America. As a long-time speaker and presenter, Caitlin educates parents, teachers, and interventionists about dyslexia and the Science of Reading (SOR). Additionally, she bears a background in outdoor education and has a passion for movement organizing with Spring Magazine. Her dream of a better and more just world result by connecting communities with each other and our environment. By working in community with others in The Living Room, Caitlin is eager to learn and grow alongside those who have much to share. In her work, Caitlin is excited to provide her students with an exciting space to receive individualized instruction.

Sarah Doucet

Sarah Doucet (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist whose career spans over three decades in contemporary dance, choreography, jewellery design, costume design, styling, and intimacy coordination. With over 30 costume design credits and work spanning Canada, North America, and Europe, Sarah has collaborated with some of the continent's most compelling dance artists. A former core member of Montreal's Animals of Distinction and original cast member of The Holy Body Tattoo's acclaimed Monumental, she has collaborated extensively with choreographer Jenn Goodwin and designed costumes for six productions with Decidedly Jazz Danceworks. Her costume credits include works by Christopher House, Ame Henderson, Sara Porter, and multiple productions with Propeller Dance, earning a Dora nomination for The Wolves (2019). In 2022, Sarah successfully led a landmark $10 million class action lawsuit against the Royal Winnipeg Ballet on behalf of 63 class members, and continues to advocate tirelessly for the rights of dancers, survivors, and those who are marginalized and underserved.

Rebecca Hooton

Rebecca (she/her) is a cis white queer settler from Montreal. Her approach to community work is informed by her years of community organizing and activism, as well as her training in theatrical collective creation. She began working at The 519 as a student in 2018 and has worked with many of the organization’s teams since then. Rebecca is committed to ever-deepening understandings of intersectional feminism, anti-racist praxis, and loving/transformative justice.

David Moscoe

David Moscoe (he/him) is a mechanical engineer, community organizer, and unicyclist. An active member of Spring Magazine and Independent Jewish Voices (IJV) and previous Tenant Organizer with the Oakwood Vaughan Community Organization (OVCO), David believes deeply in empowering communities from within. Whether he’s upcycling wood and metal in his workshop, designing unicycling parts, or engaging in political organizing, David brings plenty of passion (and shenanigans) to everything he’s involved with.
